SPIELEREI | Jessica Massard
Exhibiting October 20 to November 3, 2026.
"Spielerei refers to play, experimentation, and an activity pursued for its own sake. This exhibition brings together a collection of abstract works that explore colour, texture, and the possibilities of acrylic paint through purposeful play.
Through experimentation and manipulation, acrylic paint becomes both the medium and the subject of exploration. Colour moves beyond the surface, taking on physical form and creating unexpected textures, patterns, and relationships. The works develop through a process of discovery, where the material's own characteristics and the element of chance influence what emerges. Without a predetermined outcome, each experiment offers the freedom to follow an idea, respond to unexpected results, and uncover new possibilities for working with this curious medium in unexpected ways.
SPIELEREI celebrates the endless possibilities of acrylic paint, embracing abstraction and the freedom to explore through the simple act of making."
